Gone Bazaar: What's your occupation?
Maryam Dabboussi: I'm an interior designer and collage artist. I love all things design.
Gone Bazaar: Where do you live?
Maryam Dabboussi: I live in luminous Los Angeles.
Gone Bazaar: What's your favorite art gallery or museum in LA?
Maryam Dabboussi: LACMA for sheer variety. The Broad because it's fun. I love Murakami.
Gone Bazaar: What your favorite shopping destinations in LA?
Maryam Dabboussi: LA has a great mix of high and low, there’s Barneys and What Goes Around for high end and designer vintage. But the act of searching for vintage is so exciting, so I love going to Painted Bird in Silverlake and Squaresville in Los Feliz. Abbot Kinney has great boutiques, too.
Gone Bazaar: What's your favorite city outside of LA?
Maryam Dabboussi: I love Greece and the Cyclades so much, Santorini and Mykonos are so beautiful. I go there when I need a break. But if I need more action I’ll always go back to Paris.
Gone Bazaar: What is your go-to museum when you're in Paris?
Maryam Dabboussi: The Musee d’Orsay will always be my favorite museum in the world.
Gone Bazaar: If you could have a dinner party with any 3 artists (past, present, real or fictional) who would you choose and what would you make for dinner?
Maryam Dabboussi: I would definitely invite Matisse. Brigitte Bardot is beautiful and fascinating and loves animals so I would invite her as well. and I’d invite Miss Piggy. We would eat over the ocean in the Maldives with little sharks swimming under us. I’d serve tapas and tons of prosecco.
