I’ve lived on and off in Greenpoint since 2013. I’ve lived on Norman ave, Kingsland Ave and Freeman Street. I don’t think it’s nearly the gentrified shit show that Williamsburg is. Manhattan avenue has a mix of everything from new restaurants and bars to dollar stores to traditional NYC pizza shops to Polish bakeries and everything in between. My favorite Polish bakery in Greenpoint is Syrena. The best Tiramisu and fruit cream cakes I’ve ever had.
