I have been shooting analogue photos professionally (aka for money) for five years now (since 2019) and I have been shooting analogue photos as a hobby since I was 16 years old in high school photography 101.  Back then, in the 90’s everything was analogue so we didn’t have an option to shoot digitally -only 35mm film.  My parents also owned a film lab, Speedy Sam 1 Hour Photo in Chandler, Arizona when I was aged 8 to 11 years old -so analogue film photography has really been a long time part of my life.

Since 2019, I have been fortunate enough to have retained paying clients who have used my photos on their e-commerce websites but mainly on Instagram.  Which brings me to the subject of Instagram: I appreciate that it can be a platform for artists in every category to share our work as a sort of digital portfolio however I am really tired of being an “instagram artist” and shooting things -whether for clients or for myself- to be photographed, developed, scanned and edited often for the sole purpose of Instagram.

I would like to finally launch a real art career.  My objective is to produce and shoot a print photographic exhibit of my work.  Printed, framed and exhibited at one of many potential galleries I have been in touch with in Paris, Los Angeles or New York.  Alongside producing an exhibit, I would like to create a mini limited edition photo book.

The location concept will revolve around glamorous settings in Paris as well as settings in nature including a Lotus Lake in Mougins that I’ve wanted to shoot at for a very long time.  I would like to shoot it in Medium Format / 120 Film.  The narrative for the collection is being worked on by me daily via notes in my written diary, pinterest boards and printed collages as well as story lines with my ideas.

It goes without saying that I will need a comfortable budget to be able to accomplish what I am setting out to do effectively and with the exact vision that I want to project.  And so I have decided to start this crowdfund here on my own website rather than on one of the top 3 crowdfunding platforms. I am doing it this way because I would rather communicate directly with investors/donors rather than use a 3rd party platform which I believe negates much of the rapport and affinity that one should develop with donors. I also do not want to announce or publicly share what I am doing on Instagram or any other social media outlet I am only dealing directly on a one-to-one basus with each potential donor/investor.

I will need to raise approximately 30,000 for this based on an excel spreadsheet I created with all the expenses I will need to realistically accomplish this.
